Cozy Nook has recently been upgraded in several areas, including a new fireplace, new linens and mattress, more lighting, blackout curtains, an outdoor fire pit, new microwave and toaster, new Keurig coffee maker, and on and on. The cabin is located three miles from downtown Helen, but feels like this one-bedroom rustic cabin is totally isolated. It is the perfect place for a romantic getaway with little to no possibility of unwanted visitors, traffic, or noise. Property is located in deep rhododendron forest at the very end of a private road, the highest point on the entire property, and is snuggled up to many thousands of acres of the Chattahoochee National Forest for maximum privacy. Spa area of deck is covered, and the deck is totally secure from prying eyes. A well-accommodated full bath serves the bedroom, which has a new queen mattress and a new television. A new wide-screen television (with recently upgraded cable service to include dozens more channels) and DVD player have been added to the comfortable fireplace room, and there is a generous selection of DVDs to watch. Enjoy finest relaxation and privacy, so romantic that you may not want to even leave the cabin. But remember that numerous activities abound in Unicoi State Park (fishing in numerous well-stocked area trout streams, beach, lake, boating, stunning Ana Ruby Falls farther up in national forest) and nearby Bavarian-themed Alpine Helen (great restaurants, shopping, tourist attractions, river tubing, golfing, canoeing and kayaking, horseback riding, etc). For the more adventurous, numerous walking trails are in the area, including the nearby segment of the famous Appalachian Trail, which crosses Highway 75/17 at Unicoi Gap a few miles from the cabin.
The lodging features one comfortable bedroom with queen bed (brand new mattress) and a full bath and tub/shower with convenient and safe step-in (garden tub) feature. In summer, spring, and fall, enjoy total seclusion both in the cabin and on the private deck out back, complete with roofed hot tub, and enjoy the view of the dense forest and the nearby mountains, complete with an awesome display of fall colors peaking out in October. In May the rhododendrons are in full bloom, the temperature is usually perfect, and the ambiance is almost palpable. In cooler winter months, when the leaves are off the trees, one can see another cabin far across a deep valley, but they can’t easily see you because Cozy Nook has a much higher elevation, so privacy isn’t significantly compromised even then. During the cold periods relax in front of the cozy wood burning fireplace in the great room, enjoy an occasional snowfall, and just relax with your loved one. The hot tub is a real pleasure, and if you get to enjoy it while the snow is falling it’s truly a rare treat. Go out to eat at one of the fine restaurants in Helen, cook up your own fare in the well-stocked kitchen, or grill a steak on the deck’s new Weber charcoal grill, which has all the needed Weber utensils. Enjoy cable television in HD and big screen in the great room, where a generous selection of quality DVDs is on hand. Bring your computer and smart phone, and you can access the internet throughout the facility by using the new WiFi just installed (access instructions provided just before your arrival). It’s a little bit of heaven near a place called Helen, and you won’t find a more satisfying place to call home for a short time.
